Capital Health Network has a number of current vacancies on its General Practice Advisory Council.
The General Practice Advisory Council (GPAC) assists the Capital Health Network Board and the CEO by providing recommendations/advice on issues affecting general practice including:
- emerging issues in primary care
- communication with GPs
- strategies to strengthen and promote GP engagement and participation
- priority areas and issues requiring GP consultation
- participate in planning and service development processes.
We are seeking Expressions of Interest from those interested in assisting the PHN to meet our objectives of:
- Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of health services for consumers, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes
- Improving the co-ordination of care to ensure consumers receive the right care at the right place at the right time
Specifically, we are the following GP representatives:
- GP Principal/Practice Owner
- GP Registrar
The requirement for members is to demonstrate genuine commitment to the role and functions of the Council by preparing for meetings (reading meeting papers and developing an understanding of the issues) and to participate vigorously and respectfully in debate.
The Council meets at least three times per year with dates set to align with CHN’s strategic, business planning and needs assessment cycles. Tentative dates for the 2025 meetings are 27 March, 12 June and 25 September. Meetings are generally two hours in duration and will be held in the evenings (6:00pm – 8:00pm) in person at CHN’s new office in Belconnen or online.
Remuneration is in line with the Remuneration for Subject Matter Experts.
