About the role
Capital Health Network (CHN) is seeking an accomplished and strategic leader to take on the new role of Senior Manager Commissioning—a senior leadership position critical to delivering high quality, outcome-focused health services across the health system through commissioning. The role leads the full commissioning cycle at CHN, from assessing needs to establishing services, managing contracts, monitoring performance and evaluating outcomes.
The successful candidate will provide leadership, strategic support and management to the Commissioned Services Team, while also having a solid understanding of technical aspects of the commissioning. This includes in-depth knowledge of the ACT health sector, advanced stakeholder engagement skills and expertise in contract management.
About the team
The Senior Manager Commissioning leads Commissioned Services Team. The team works closely with CHN-funded health service providers to facilitate improved health outcomes across the ACT region, in program areas such as mental health, aged care, Alcohol or Other Drugs (AOD) and more. Reporting directly to the General Manager Health System Improvement, this role also works collaboratively with CHN internal teams to drive strategic quality improvement initiatives. This involves not only co-designing new services, but also modifying, transforming and reorganising existing services to enhance performance and better meet the health needs of Canberrans.
See yourself in our team
To effectively support CHN’s goals and objectives in commissioning, you will lead a high-performing team by providing clear directions, overseeing team-level planning and budgeting, while actively contributing to CHN-wide operational and functional strategies. You will be a strength-based leader who combines technical components of commissioning with strong team management–empowering staff to excel in cross-team collaboration and innovation. You will use your high-level relationship skills to engage with CHN internal teams through planning and procurement, and externally with government partners, primary health care providers and community organisations.
In this new leadership role, you will have the opportunity to position yourself at the heart of meaningful, impactful change. Your role in establishing and operationalising commissioning processes will see you drive system change towards more integrated, innovative and value-based health care in the ACT.
