CHN provides one-on-one support to immunisation providers in the ACT and formal education opportunities supported by ACT Health about current best practice. CHN is a member of the Immunisation Operational Committee and also the Special Interest Group for Nurse Immuniser Status in the ACT.
Over 400 practitioners (GPs, nurses, pharmacists and allied health practitioners) attended our education sessions, which were run as webinars due to COVID-19 physical distancing restrictions. Many more have watched the recordings on the ACT Health website.
The ACT has the highest rate nationally of fully immunised children in both the one year and two year old cohorts and above the national average rate of fully immunised children in the five year old cohort (31 March 2020).
