Now in its seventh year of operation, the Early Morning Centre In-Reach program offers a two-hour weekly clinic staffed by a GP or Nurse Practitioner. CHN commissioned the General Practice Interchange Health Cooperative, who subcontracts Waramanga Medical Centre to deliver primary health care services to vulnerable people. In the last six months, the program serviced over 30 clients at the Early Morning Centre.
The program offers an invaluable service to a vulnerable population that would not be accessing care otherwise. Examples of services include interventions for diabetes, hypertension, wound care and crucial mental health linkages. Outside of the regular drop-in service the clinic provided an extra in-reach flu-shot clinic as well as linkages back into existing primary care for ongoing care and treatment.
