Job Details
Position Description
We are looking for colleagues who do not want to fee rushed with patients, and love feeling they are helping others. Women’s health is moving fast, with scientific insights and positive attitudes towards advocacy. It is an exciting and rewarding subset of primary care.
The position is part time (or full time if desired) and is amenable to being parallel with work in other practices. We see women for 40 minutes initially, with 20 minute reviews, with good remuneration that is linear (not limited to fixed gaps). You would see women for an initial assessment, then for a limited number of reviews until their concern is being managed/stable – the women all have their own GP’s for usual care. We have links with excellent allied health practitioners – no need to feel responsible for solving everything!
Your common topics would be contraception choices and administration, subfertility, peri/menopause, endometriosis, PCOS, menorrhagia and PMDD.
You do not need to feel competent in these topics to apply – further support and training can be facilitated.
You must be able to work in a metropolitan area.
Practice Description
Her Health and Aesthetics is a small, lovely practice with 4 rooms. We offer consultations in a quiet, unrushed atmosphere. The clinic is located on the Canberra Hospital campus. We are open weekdays and every second Saturday (no weekend work is required by applicants). Our hours are flexible and we can run without reception support if your preferred hours differ.
In addition to managing menstrual and hormonal concerns we also offer aesthetic treatments which compliments midlife presentations. These include dermal treatments for collagen stimulation, botulinum toxin, skin boosters and rejuvenation including platelet-rich plasma, and dermal fillers. We also offer ‘scarless’ mole removals and treatment for seborrhoeic keratoses.
We have a visiting doctor who was dermatology trained abroad, and a GP who is upskilling in women’s health on a temporary basis.
